I'm the QC manager at the laboratory of a gold mine where we test samples from the metallurgical plats for gold and uranium content - as part of their process control. I started making pens about 2 years ago - as a hobby. i read anything on pen-making i can get my hand on - it's amazing how people can make plans to get the seemingly impossible done.

Hi to all
I was a maintenance manager for last 30 odd years but I am now retired. I keep busy with photography, I am a member of our local club, and start to make pens only in February. At this stage, there is everyday something new I read or do with the pens. I have no stress, only some when I saw the boat under the car port and not on the water.

I fabricate solid surface ( Corian). Make countertops and other items from it for commercial and residential markets in SA. I do bonsai as a hobby and pen turning when I have some time in the day as a de stresser.

I'm a BI Analyst/Developer (read IT guy) in JHB. Sitting in front of a computer screen the whole day gets to you after a while. So when I get home I'm totally anti technology. Make knives and pens to get away from it all.

Yes after a while the flying gets to you. Business class does help lol. I will be back on the 8th of June

Guys (not sure if we have any ladies yet) but I want to start a post so that we can get to know each other better. There for I will start it.
I work as an expat on a gold mine in West Africa. I am the construction coordinator. I have been here for 7 and a 1/2 year. I work on a 2-1 month roster.
